San Diego

Here are some pictures of our trip to San Diego for Thanksgiving. Here is Grandpa George with Rocko and Charly running from the water. I have no idea what we were thinking when we took them to the beach and told them to try not to get wet. Holding hands in La Jolla.
This was a good attempt at a group shot.
Home Town Buffet Thanksgiving dinner. Yea for no clean up!!!
I'm glad Micah had someone to ride the roller coaster with!
We had a great time! Thanks for going with us. Next year?

WEDDING MEMORIES

This weekend when Andrew and Kylie came to visit it brought back memories of such a special time. They reminded us that this will be their first Christmas together. We laughed about last Christmas when Andrew was supposed to spend Christmas morning with us. He lasted about 10 minutes after his presents were opened and then he was off to St. David. He was a young man in love.
Having them here this weekend and seeing them laugh, cuddle, and play together made us so happy. It is good to see that even after they are married, Andrew is still a young man in love.
Going to the temple with them was such a special time. All four of my children were with us. It was such an incredible experience to look around the sealing room and see all my chidren there. Those are the moments in life that stay with you forever.
I forgot my camera, so I am especially grateful for the pictures that were shared with us of that day. Here is to memories ---
Proud parents - only Kylie could get George to wear that hot pink tie.

Grandma & Grandpa Robinson look so happy. Andrew is on the phone - judging by the smile, he is probably talking to KylieOf all the things I have done in my life - my children make me the most proud. They love each other, they love their spouses and their children, they love their Heavenly Father, and they love George and I - what more could a mother want.

Well, maybe a few more of these. Aren't they sweet? Grandchildren are love and laughter. We've added two more since this picture was taken, Cole & Paisley. Soon to add another - thanks Leslie. I love the saying - "I never knew how much love my heart could hold till someone called me Grandma."

WHAT A WEEKEND - YARD SALES, FOOTBALL, BOWLING, NAPS, FARKLE, CASA TACOS, AND BEST OF ALL JUST HANGING OUT!!!

The best part of the weekend - being together !!!

George and Andrew fortifying themselves
with brownies and milk before church.
Don't let that sweet smile fool you.
This boy is relentless at farkle. He
would not let George win - even when
I told him that we would have to play until
George won.

Saturday night we went bowling. We paid by time rather than by game. When we were through we still had a few minutes left and so Andrew decided to bowl a few more frames. He bowled 7 - yes count them 7 straight strikes - and then a spar. It's a good thing he didn't do that during our games, I was humilated enough.
Thanks Andrew and Kylie for coming and hanging out with the old folks.

JANET AND MCKAY'S WEDDDING

The big family event of the summer was Janet & McKay's wedding
The wedding party - including a unique "Maid of Honor"
Janet made a beautiful bride - McKay was dashing in his dress uniform.

The "official" proud parents & grandparents photo. Every wedding book has to have one of these !!!

It was special to have Grandma & Grandpa Carpenter there. They were so proud of McKay. It is a great memory especially now that Grandpa isn't with us.

BLESSING DAY

Blessing day for Cole & Paisley !!!
Definitely proud grandparents ---
and great grandparents ---

and Aunt Lisa's !!!

Grandma Trisha, Mom, and Grandma Robinson trying to figure out the buttons on this dress.

Jill asked Grandma Robinson to dress little Paisley - she dressed Parker too. What a special memory.

Granpa Robinson holds Princesss Paisley in her special dress.

Getting a hug from my baby.

You may not know this, but you are looking at the richest woman in the world. I have a loving husband, wonderful children, and the most amazing grandchildren. I watched my son and son-in-law hold their beautiful children in their arms and give them a name and a blessing. I saw my father, my husband and my other two sons, stand in the circle with them. I stood off to the side at John & Jill's home and just watched for a while and reflected on the blessings of the day. I am so grateful for the blessings of family, for my children, for their spouses, for their children, for my parents, for my sister. But mostly for my dear husband. Thank you George for loving me, and my children, and for being Grandpa George. There is no one else like you and I am glad that you are mine.

PIZZA NIGHT

When the boys came go Grandma's she decided enough was enough -- it was their turn to cook !!!!!
Start off with pepperoni, you can never have too much pepperoni !!!
Add olives, ham and green chili - Ok only green chili on Grandma's piece. Cook to perfection ---

And eat - it is especially good with strawberry milk.

"Hey Grandma, we did so good with the pizza - we should make cookies. Just so we know how and you won't ever have to do it again." Yeah right.

A cookie scoop is a wonderful tool and we all know that boys just love tools.
According to the boys, "The cookies were great, but the dough was the best!"

NAP TIME

Cole is in charge of putting Grandpa down for his nap.going
going

gone!!!

They're so cute when they're asleep.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TRAINS

Micah brought his boys down to spend a few days with us and even though it was barely November, out came the Christmas trains. It was just for practice not the real thing.
Getting it on the track just right is important. You have to get down to eye level to make sure it is right.

Grandpa believes that you are never too young to appreciate the wonder of a train. Cole just loved sitting here watching it go round and round - it think it is a guy thing.

When it was all done to his satisfaction, Rocko pulled up the rocking chair and said, "I think I'll just sit here and watch the trains like an old person."
It wouldn't be Grandpa's house without the trains.

Laura started this blog for me. One day I just opened up her bog and there it was. When I tell my friends that I have a blog they are so impressed. I don't tell them that I really don't have a clue what I am doing. Laura has been very helpful and is always encouraging me to try. Any of you that are her friends will know how patient she is.
I am going to try and impress the family and leave tons of valuable information for you all to admire and appreciate. I am going through pictures that I have on my computer and will take this opportunity to share with you. I am not going to try and put them in the correct order. You might find cousin camp listed after the baby blessings, or my birthday party right before Christmas. I just think that you should all say out loud "what a woman" for trying.
